Jasper, Arkansas / The Buffalo River
Thirty minutes to the south is Jasper, Arkansas, the true heart of the beautiful Ozark Mountain Range. Near Jasper is the Buffalo National River. The Buffalo River is a must see if you enjoy outdoor activities. The hiking trails are well-marked and offer short, easy hikes or a daylong trek into the wilderness. You can drift along in a canoe and view wildlife at the water's edge, picnic on a gravel bar, camp, or swim around a lazy pool in the shadow of magnificent bluffs. Eureka Springs, Arkansas
Eureka Springs, Arkansas is only a forty-five minute drive west and is one of the most unique towns in the country. Tour the historic homes and stroll down the narrow, winding streets lined with quaint shops offering the most original art and gifts you will find anywhere. The town's award-winning restaurants and bistros will delight any taste.
Mountain View, Arkansas / Blanchard Springs Caverns
Mountain View lies approximately one hour to the east. Mountain View hosts a village frozen in time. Enter the village and set your clocks back 100 years. Visit with artisans as they work and come away with a renewed respect for the ingenuity of our ancestors. Blanchard Springs Caverns is near Mountain View. Although the Ozarks are riddled with caves that are awesome, mysterious, and historic; Blanchard Springs Caverns is one of the loveliest.
Fishing, Skiing, Boating...The Nearby Lakes and Rivers
If your passion is fishing, we highly recommend Bull Shoals Lake. Launch ramps and rental boats are available at Diamond City, approximately forty-five minutes north. The view of this lake's sheer rock bluffs jutting out of clear blue-green waters make it a must for sight-seers. Bull Shoals Lake is a peaceful lake that has the reputation of a fisherman's paradise. Most of the water-skiers and pleasure boaters are drawn to Table Rock Lake. If your interest is in trophy trout fishing, the world-renowned White River at Cotter, Arkansas is only a short, forty-five minute drive. We encourage the use of a guide on this river, and we can personally recommend some excellent guides. These, guides are knowledgeable about the river, helpful with a first-time fisherman (or woman), and they can cook a mean trout for your shore lunch. All you need to bring is a fishing license. We can promise you a trip that you will brag about for years to come.
